Webinar attendees learned how Hospital Campaign activities support guidelines set forth in hospital donation plans. Teams from Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates, Gift of Life Donor Program, and the Center for Organ Recovery and Education discussed how they’ve used the Campaign to accomplish hospital development goals and milestones.

This webinar reviewed goals for the 2018 campaign and highlighted strategies for making this year’s Hospital Campaign your best ever. Representatives from LiveOnNY and Gift of Life Michigan discussed how to create one big day focused on adding donor registrations and how to create friendly competition between transplant centers.

Hospital cultures that promote donor registrations: March 15, 2017
Some hospitals participating in the Hospital Campaign have seen a cultural shift toward promoting donor registrations year round—a shift that results in more staff and volunteers participating in donation activities and in more donor registrations. Phase IV results for enrollment and participation were detailed, showing Hospital Campaign growth from Phase I through Phase IV, including a more-than-30% increase in hospital and transplant center enrollment. Expanded participation and partnerships among OPOs was responsible for a 40% increase in the number of partners receiving recognition for Phase IV. Donate Life California, Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency, Carolina Donor Services, Donor Alliance, Nevada Donor Network, and LifeLink of Georgia provided Phase IV success stories. A “photo montage” video highlighted donation-promotion events and activities all over the country, and Hospital Campaign Leadership Team member Debbie Gibbs previewed Phase V plans and opportunities.

WPFL Special-Focus Webinar – Engaging Rural and Small Hospitals

George F. Bergstrom, Vice President of Member Relations for the American Hospital Association (AHA) gave a brief overview of the AHA and presented a profile of rural and small hospitals. Spencer L. Grover, Vice President of the Indiana Hospital Association, spoke about the critical role rural and small hospitals can play in promoting donor awareness among staff and communities. Lauren Fitting, Community Outreach/Partnership Coordinator with Lifeline of Ohio, was joined by Denise Phillips, Education Instructor at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, in a team presentation that focused on their successful collaboration and featured a step-by-step look at their partnership efforts.
